Wenatchee Is Cleaning Up

January 9th, 2007

173989-624900-thumbnail.jpgTypically, Wenatchee is a pretty nice, peaceful, town to drive around in.  Today was not typical.  After the monster windstorm from yesterday, the roar of chain saws polluted the air today.

I took my husband and my camera out to preview some of the damage… yet trying to stay out of the way of clean-up crews.

There was plenty of roofing material littering the entire region and, sadly, lots of old timber evergreen trees that had been sucked up by their roots and thrown to the ground or (in some cases), into homes and onto cars.  As far as I know, there have been no reported injuries from the storm.

Home buried under, and surrounded by, downed trees
The home featured above,  which I sold several years ago, now has a large uprooted Douglas Fir tree leaning against it.  Unfortunately, this was not an uncommon sight today.

Below are more samples of the debris about town.  The house on the left is covered with, and surrounded by fallen trees.  The root ball is a typical example of uprooted trees littering the town.  The van nearly got buried, but probably just scratched.  If you look closely at the next picture, you will see a smooshed car under the collapsed carport at the Washington West condo complex.  There is a car under the collapsed carport.

There will be no shortage of firewood this winter and the roofers will, quite literally, have work for several months.

Photos for Richard & Shirley, Greg & Shelley

December 24th, 2006

Richard & Shirley and Greg & Shelley,

This seems to be the most efficient way to get you more pictures of the property you inquired about at 780-NE 10th St., East Wenatchee.  The upper level is updated.  The lower level is not updated, but neat and clean and uniquely appealing.

The short plat, creating 3 additional parcels is not completed yet.  There is some uncertainty as to the prices or how many will actually be available for sale.

Let me know if you have specific questions or need additional information.   You can click on any image to enlarge:
