Waterville Museum

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to actually spend some time at the Waterville Museum, which is officially the "Douglas County Museum".  Waterville is the county seat of Douglas County, so it would stand to reason the county museum would be there.  Anyway, I’ve been to and through Waterville many many times but never had the time to splurge on stopping at the museum.  It’s a very nice and interesting museum and I would recommend a stop if you’re at all interested in pioneer life.  I bought a book called "Beginnings" which is the early history of the settlement of the Waterville area.

I love building murals, and the picture above was taken at the end of the museum building.  The scene is actually looking down Pine Canyon where the Columbia River first comes into view as you drop down off the plateau from Waterville.  That’s my husband in the middle of the picture, by the car.

Waterville, Washington is about 30 miles North and slightly east from Wenatchee.  With escalating real estate prices in the Wenatchee Valley, Waterville is offering some pretty good values right now.
